Training is presented by Bob Nighswonger, a 32 year veteran in line locating and damage prevention. 

This live training class is presented over Zoom and can be viewed from any browser.  After the class you will be invited to  take a short online quiz to receive a digital certificate of completion.

If you are responsible for locating and field marking underground lines this course is designed for you. The goal of this training is to be better prepare you for the countless hazards you may face during the task of line locating. 

The behind the scenes efforts of these front line workers often go unappreciated. A locator's job can take them from the middle of a busy road to an active construction site to backwoods thickets and swamps. Locators are often first responders to emergency excavation during working hours and after hours.  There are a number of hazards and dangers that a front line locator can face, this job site awareness training identifies many of these hazards.

Course testing and completion certificate is included in this free course. This course is limited to 100 connections. Links to course page and testing is available for each person attending the class as an individual and for multi viewers watching from one connection. 

Course Goals

   The goal of this training is that you leave better prepared for tomorrow than you were yesterday to face the many hazards associated with line locating on public and private property.

     Hello my name is Bob and I'm a locator. I have been involved in the world of line locating and damage prevention for the last 32 years. I began my career as a line on the front lines, where the shovel meets the dirt.    I would like to offer this FREE LOCATOR SAFETY TRAINING COURSE to my fellow line locators as a thank you and payback to the damage prevention community. I've completed over 60,000 locate tickets, SUE line designations and private facility locates.  I have served in many rolls in my career and have been exposed to every hazard we will discuss during this training.
